50th Anniversary

The Choir marked 2025, our 50th Anniversary Year with many special events, including a formal dinner at the De Valence Pavilion to which current and past choristers, families and friends were invited. One highlight of the evening was Senior Chorister Duncan Hilling singing 'Ringo No Hitorigoto', the Red Apple Song, which he'd learned as a soldier based in Japan following the end of WW2.

2024

RNLI 200th Anniversary

During 2024 the Choir were delighted to perform three times for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, their 200th Anniversary, having supported them since our inception in 1975. We performed at their RNLI200 Festival in Pembroke Castle, held a fundraiser at St Mary's Church and finally sang at Tenby Lifeboat Station during a Ceremony in which Tenby's crew and supporters added their signatures to the national 'Connecting our Communities' Scroll.

2023

New MD & Modern Repertoire

In 2023 new Musical Director Paul Rapi set about growing and modernising our repertoire. Queen's 'We Are the Champions' has become firmly established as one of our 'audience participation' songs. President Wynne Evans BEM roused the capacity audience to join in the choruses of this iconic anthem at our end-of-season Gala Concert.

2022

Return from Pandemic

Our then MD Ian 'Wilbur' Williams brought us back from two years' pandemic suspension for a successful 2022 Summer Season, culminating at our Gala Concert with Serendipity Ladies Choir. Our President of 35 years, Roy Noble OBE, retired at this concert and kindly introduced his successor, fellow broadcaster Wynne Evans BEM.

2019

Principality Stadium

We ended 2019 on a high when we were invited to sing at the Principality Stadium for Wales vs Barbarians, celebrating the national team's return from the Rugby World Cup in Japan. Wales had been narrowly beaten in the RWC Semi-finals by South Africa, the eventual champions.

Weatherman Walking

We're never short of weather in Tenby, so in 2018 we took it up with the man responsible, Derek Brockway — BBC's "Weatherman Walking", as he followed the Welsh Coastal Path from Tenby to Pendine.

In 2016 our then President Roy Noble, OBE, DL, K.St.J attended our Annual Dinner at Tenby's Giltar Hotel and is seen here awarding Bass Section Leader Eric Mullins his 35 Years' Service Award.

40th Anniversary & Malta Tour

Tenby Male Choir was 40 years old in 2015 and the anniversary year featured many celebratory concerts and social activities, culminating in a tour to Malta and Gozo. Videos of the Choir's Malta performances can be found on YouTube.
